It was several years ago that I first met Richie.
He didn’t even know me and hugged me.
It was weird and I wasn’t sure about him or the embrace.
Didn’t take long to realize he was the real deal.
I don’t have eloquent words to really do justice to my friend’s life.
He wouldn’t want them anyway.
His life wasn’t about him.
It was about Jesus, His love, and amazing grace.
Learned a lot about what it means to be a man, father, and friend from Richie and Karen.
My marriage & parenting is stronger because of him.
Dear friend, go run with your daughter.
Free of pain, cancer, and all the other crap we face this side of heaven.
‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ – Matthew 25:21
We will be announcing the time and location of the funeral in Virginia Beach as soon as the family is ready to make those plans. Thank you for being patient as we respect the Merritt family and give them time to process and reflect.
God bless you Richie.
One Love.
