The Happenings @Forefront757

Every single week over at Forefront.org, we have a weekly update with all the latest happenings, things taking place, and ways to get involved. If you’ve ever wondered about what is going on we post it right here. Also, it’s talked about weekly in Gel Groups & video announcements are played weekly at Sunday morning services. Alright, you’ve been given the rundown on how to get informed, now, here is this week’s “Weekly Update.”

Go Global!

God has paved the way for us to do a lot of great work in Vietnam over the past few years, and we are not stopping anytime soon! We are already beginning to plan our 2013 trips. If you are even a little bit interested in learning more about what a trip to Vietnam might be like, please come to our meeting Sunday, October 7 at 9am at OLHS.  This meeting will not commit you to a trip, it’s just a chance for you to ask questions and find out what’s involved in traveling to Vietnam. If you’d like to come please contact dan@forefront.org or fill out a card at the Hub Table in the lobby.  Come learn about how you can change people’s lives on the other side of the world!

Office Takeover

Hey parents, want to get rid of your teenager for the night and have the place to yourselves? (You do, don’t you? It’s ok to admit it! We know you still love them!) Tell them all about our Office Takeover on October 12-13, for all middle school and high school students. We’ll be pulling an all-nighter at the office from Friday at 9pm until Saturday at 7am with food, video games (Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3), and movies (G, PG and PG-13), as well as other games and activities. Keep an eye out for our flyer with more details. This is also a great event for them to invite their friends. Please sign up at our middle school or high school page so we can plan accordingly. And if you want to take a look at last year’s office takeover, check out the video here.

Towing Help Needed

If you can drive a truck and have any experience towing, we need you! Two of the volunteers that usually tow our trailers on Sunday morning are getting ready to leave on deployment, so we are looking for a few people who can help out. A Forefronter has made their truck available, so you don’t even need to have your own truck! If you can help or would like more info, please contact Dan Pollard at 468-1188 or at dan@forefront.org as soon as possible. You will be our hero!  (But more importantly, you’ll be helping our service to happen every week!)

Convention X

All middle school and high school students are invited to join us at  Convention X in Richmond on November 30 -December 1. This is an awesome two days packed with speakers, bands, entertainment, and great opportunities to build relationships. The price is currently $80 but it will increase to $100 after October 31, so now is the time to sign up and pay. Info packets are available at the Hub table, or you can check out the middle school or high school page at our website for information and sign up forms. If you still have questions after visiting the website, email James at james@forefront.org or call him at 468-1168.

Cardia’s Back!

Cardia is a special gathering we offer just for high school students that happens every Monday night at the Forefront Warehouse.  If you’re in high school we want you to be part of the Cardia experience! It’s a great opportunity for you to connect with God and other people your age, and have some fun while you’re there.  Join us every Monday from 7-8:30 pm, and bring your friends! Questions? Contact James Davis at james@forefront.org.

A Simple Way to Help

Every Sunday we have four large gray bins set up in our lobby to collect donations for some causes that are close to our heart: Aidnow,  Crisis Pregnancy Center, People in Need Ministry, and the Foodbank. Simply drop your items in the appropriate bin and we’ll take care of the rest. (Suggested items: CPC – diapers, wipes, baby wash, onesies, sleepers. Food Bank – nonperishable/nonbreakable food items such as peanut butter, tuna, soup, pasta, canned vegetables. PIN – gently used clothing, bug spray, shoes, blankets, hygiene items. If donating mouthwash please make sure it is alcohol-free.) Thanks for your support!!

Welcome To Forefront Lunch

If you are new to Forefront – You should sign up for our upcoming Welcome Lunch, October 14th, 2012 right after service in the Ocean Lakes High School Cafeteria. Come get a free lunch and let us say hi and welcome you and your family! Sign up with an email to dan@forefront.org or at the hub table this coming Sunday. Childcare will be provided.

Element Class Wants You!

If you’ve ever had questions about God, faith, the church, baptism, and well, the list could go on… we’d like to shed some light on some of these topics and more. In this class, “Element,” you’ll get some free resources, books, learn with other Forefronters who are thinking about the same questions you are, and we’ll have some q&a time too. The class will be in the next few weeks, and anyone & everyone is welcome. Once we fill the class, we’ll get the Saturday morning date and time out to everyone. Contact Jason@forefront.org for more information.
