Simplify Media.

I am always looking for ways to get all my music (work, laptop, arts drive) all in one place. Well, now I have that freedom. It doesn’t matter if it’s PC or Mac. You don’t have to use iTunes, Winamp and others all also supported.

It’s called Simplify Media and it can be shared between 30 friends via the web.

Did I mention it’s secure and legal? It’s times like this that I enjoy technology.

It’s Confession Time

I am blogging today over at Forefront’s Blog, so there’s no sense in doin’ double duty people. *wink wink*

So it’s something
nobody wants to talk about, but… it’s reality. It affects over 35% of men and 23% of women. I’ve been cursed with it, but have learned to control it. Are you a part of “the club?”

The Only Way I Will Add A Keyboard…

to our already kickin‘ rock services is if this little Chinese prodigy comes to play at Forefront. Holy Crap!?! It starts at 30 seconds in and rocks your socks off!

Amazing.

I Wish This Was Real…

So we just did a series called, GPS. It pointed people toward serving and we held an expo in the lobby of all the ministries. Well, when we get rolling in a creative meeting sometimes things get a little unruly. Hence the following video. We started talking about our GPS’s (huh?!?) in each of our cars and the frustrations we each have with them, which led to our idea to create a new and improved GPS. We showed this Sunday and I’m sure we will get emails and phone calls this week. Enjoy.

One Word: Genius.

Saw this on a few blogs and then checked out all the action on YouTube. This advertising campaign is absolutely genius. Advertising at it’s best. And they are pretty hilarious too. The church could take a few cues from being innovative in how we draw people to our churches/faith communities. [See More Here]

Time Lapse Fun

I am loving this new program I’ve been using thanks to seeing some of this action over at ragamuffinsoul.com. It’s called Gawker and I was testing it out with the Beach Campus set-up and sound check leading up to the start of service (7:26 am to 10:02 am in just 15 seconds). Check it out.

I Can’t Believe This Wasn’t Done Sooner

Calling All Video Peeps & Creative Arts Gurus!

So I am a HUGE fan of Death Cab for Cutie and Benjamin Gibbard’s work (American Analog Set, All-Time Quarterback, Postal Service), but I have had a lover affair with a song he did with Styrofoam (which I love) for awhile now. It’s called, “Couches in Alleys.”

Reason being is two fold:
1. I love the composition and lyrical trail, and
2. I have been racking my brains on how to do a video for one of our services in the Fall with this and have hit a brick wall.

SO HERE IS WHERE YOU PEEPS COME IN. YEAH!

I am looking for ideas or for video submissions on how to communicate the truth I am thinking with this song. When I listen I hear two friends having a dialogue or lack thereof and the friend in the driver’s seat is trying to talk about the issues his friend is having. But he fears that when the car ride is over nothing will have changed. The issues he wants to discuss are like couches left in alleys that no one ever claims and get rained on and tattered and eventually we have to pick up the remains of what we left.

This could be an amazing video for new churches launching or a new series where people push to invite friends. Let’s put our heads together and get this thing moving. I’ve included a video someone made for it as well as a live performance with Styrofoam featuring Ben. Enjoy!

Arts Discussion Chaos Finale

Okay, so we’ve had quite a bit of viewing on the YouTube posts (2,500+ on the last video in less than 24 hours.. whoa) as well as back and forth dialogue over at vinceantonucci.com… but I’m sad to say the Arts Dicussion Chaos series is all done.

But don’t get down kiddies; I have enclosed a link to the entire series so you can head on over to view all, link in your blog, spread the love, etc.

Here is the link to the entire series: http://tinyurl.com/52ly9m

Thanks to Tory, Paul, Billy, & Collide Mag for tracking back and passing this info along so we can all keep the discussion going.

We’ll be doing some “How-To” Video blogging in a couple of weeks for set design & video projects. Stay tuned! Until then,

Arts Discussion Chaos #5

So I am guest blogging over at VinceAntonucci.com this week and I’ll be posting them here as well. Blogging is a beast to do multiple blogs so doublin’ up is fine with me. Call me lazy, but my old lady will kill me if I spend any extra time on the computer. So, much love people. Enjoy.

Thanks for everyone contributing to the discussion during the week via comments, Facebook, Twitter & here on the blog. If you guys have any more questions about arts, production, how-to’s… just give me a shout.

Thanks to Vince for letting me contribute to the discussion and I’ll be diving deeper into those stage discussed in Post #4.
