Video Blog- Episode 1

I’ve seen video blogs here and there, but doing them all the time and never posting in text can be a beast. But, I figured every once and awhile I’d do a video blog to catch you up on things, and more importantly so you can see the progress of my Paul Bunyan beard.

Aww yeah! Enjoy.

Water Fowl Fo’ Life

Sometimes there are stories on the news for which there are no words. Listen for the quote, “Maybe if more people had a duck in their life…” Classic.
[HT: Nat]

What Are They Thinking?!?

So, Manny Ramirez has been out there for the taking and the Mets Big Whigs have been talking and discussing what to do. Seriously? Like there is any question.

You’re heading to a new stadium, you don’t have anything in your line-up that says you can win more games than last year, and you have him interested for the right price…

C’MON ALREADY!

Okay, so I am a little worked up about this. I know this is not helping my blood pressure so I am going to take some time to breathe, think happy thoughts, and pray to God above that the men in high positions in the Mets ball club will get the minds out of cruise control mode and make a wise choice (for the love of all that is holy!). Ugh.

Need to Take A Break?

If so, check these guys out on YouTube. Seriously- they are hilarious. Jemaine Clement (left) and Bret McKenzie (right) make up the acoustic comedy duo, “Flight of the Concords.” Their antics from New Zealand are absolutely hysterical. Not only do they have their own TV show on HBO; they also have a couple CD’s out there of their songs (which are have an accident in your pants kind of funny).

As a teaser of what you can expect from them- enjoy this video. I soooo want to use the song for a series on sex. It’s great.

Yes It Is.

I woke up this morning and have been rockin’ out to this song on repeat. Oh-so-true…

So, what kind of day are you having peeps???

Where’s The Storm?

Winter storm, eh?!
Seriously?
C’mon Jeff Lawson, I am pretty sure my daughter can look out and tell me that there is no snow going down… Ha.

Finding Jason, Oops… I Mean Nemo.

I’ve been LOOVVVINGG the Forefront Online Community. You guys have been rocking it with planning service projects, meeting new people, creating great discussion, and the cool part is- it isn’t stopping there. You are using it to meet “outside” of the silly computer. Again, love it.

But, on my personal page I got a message from Juli Cason, the wife of Chuck, our Chesapeake Campus Pastor. The message was as follows:

“I have a funny story for you. Today I was on the computer and I pulled up your blog. It took a while for the text to load, so all that was on the screen was your picture and the shoes on the top. Noah walked over and said, “fishy” as he pointed at the screen. I was trying to figure out why he thought the shoes were a fishy until he said, “shoes.” I’m pretty sure he thought the picture of you was a fish…”

Seriously? Do I look like a fish?!? C’mon Noah. I know you got a sweet Bible name and the water stuff, you probably dig fish, but seriously? Hhhhmmmm, I wonder…

Bad Idea…

Just had lunch with Rich Merritt at Moe’s.
My stomach is telling me it was a real bad idea…
Ugh.

Whattup Cali and ATL!

So apparently I’m a big deal in Scottdale, GA and Belmont, CA. Other than VA and surrounding states where many of my ministry friends are doing great things- these two places are ranking high on my Google Analytics… who knew?

I’m not big on following stats and what not, but just found that interesting since I haven’t been to either place. I’d love to visit though, I’m sure it’s beautiful. I love Cali and ATL. But, it made me think-

“Where would you love to visit, but never been?”

Until next time people,

Jason *over and out*

Irony.

Was reading my daily news this morning when I came across an interesting article. The Unabomber, “Ted Kaczynski” who was against all modernization of man-kind, is appealing that his possessions, writings, memoirs and such, not be sold on the Internet to pay restitution to the families of his victims.

Two things I would like to ponder…

One: Even with the love of Jesus inside me, this man is loony to think that he has any say at this point over those things from inside a cell. The state can (and will) do whatever they see is best for the case and families involved.

Two: I think it’s great. It’s great that the families will be able to get something even though it in “no way” brings their family members and loved ones back. It will help their grieving and bring them some closure. I also think it’s great because the very thing Ted was against is now being used to bring his saga to a close. Oh the irony.
