Something Old, Something New

So I got up this morning and decided to check out an old dive that recently changed ownership. It used to be “Java Junction” and I knew the owner pretty well, helped decorate, had some of my artwork up, spent quite a bit of time there. Playing music, watching bands, doing Bible studies, small groups, etc.

But now it’s “The Broken Egg.” A breakfast and lunch place that seems to be thriving compared to it’s previous JJ state of being. The difference… the previous owner, a Christian and the new owner, in it for business.

I’ve watched numerous Christian endeavors fail for a number of reasons (too nice, just a ‘ministry’, kind of a side job, not enough killer instinct, and the list goes on). I think sometimes the church and Christ-followers can create great environments where people feel comfortable, but when it comes down to brass tax… they can’t make it stick because they think too much like Christians and not enough like the world.

Now I know that might sound a little strange and first glance, but if we get inside the world’s head more, if JJ had jumped in the world’s head more… there would be HUGE differences. I’m pretty sure we can learn a little bit from this. Take away what you will, but I know I’m gonna think a little more like The Broken Egg.

Rockin’ My World

So Guitar Hero III came out today & has officially taken over my life, being and existence. I freakin’ rules and if I had to rate on a scale of 1 to 10 on how mush this game kicks butt, it would melt your face off once I started explaining it. Here is a list of the artists on the game and seriously see why this game rules so much (pictures of rockin’ out coming soon).

Oh, check out my stats on guitarhero.com, I’m just getting started, but my goal is to break the top 1,000 on the Wii

Creative Team Meeting Today

So we had our second creative meeting in two weeks about our next series, “So Easy A Caveman Could Do It.” Here are some of the ideas that were talked about over the course of our stay with the fine people at Panera:

  • Wii-Wii (assume away with this one)
  • Tazer Tag (giving kids tazers as a new product)
  • iPhone (now a toaster oven, hand grenade, pepper spray, etc. You get the point)
  • Cavemen boxing on the Wii (we’re biased about our gaming systems apparently)
  • Oh, and we watched this HILARIOUS video that Andy Samberg did on SNL. I posted it below… couldn’t resist.

If you don’t watch the office… you should totally start.
