Aidnow Fundraising Event Weekend March 19-20, 2011

March is an exciting month for aidnow. We are part of two major fundraising events that will bring support to aidnow’s mission. The first one starts Saturday morning March 19th at the Virginia Beach oceanfront. We are looking for Runners and Walkers for the Shamrock 8k, 1/2 and Marathon. Pick a distance, pick AidNow and make a difference by raising funds for any of our ongoing projects like our Vietnam Water Project, Jewel’s Closet or our general fund. Our second event is sponsored by Trinity Tattoo in Virginia Beach on the same day but later in the evening. Trinity Tattoo will be hosting a spectacular event featuring some amazing artists in a live art collaboration and much more. Benefits from this event will also be donated to aidnow. Holiday Season at Union Mission

On December 4th, Board Member Jessie Calevas hosted a fundraiser to benefit Union Mission. Each attendee brought bags of food for Holiday Baskets for the less fortunate in Hampton Roads. On December 15th, AidNow will be dropping off the food and presenting a check to assist them in their efforts. On Union Mission’s finale day, December 23rd, the Board of Directors, their families and supporters distributed the food baskets and as you can see from the photo below of our Board Vice President, Monica Laurendeau and Board Treasurer, Dave Forsyth, we even had a chance to make 150 gift bags for the Men’s Shelter at Union Mission, Norfolk Virginia. Though we’re a new non profit and relatively small, we hope we made a HUGE difference this Holiday Season. Thanks to our supporters and our families who believe in AidNow. We know 2011 is going to be an awesome year!

First Project for AidNow

AidNow is partnering with another non profit, Glocal Ventures (GVI), an American company based in TX with offices in Hanoi Vietnam to make a difference in Ta Phin, Vietnam. This September, a team of volunteers from Virginia Beach’s Forefront Church will travel half way around the world to offer an educational conference for teachers and expanding clean water projects . AidNow looks forward to lending financial support for this upcoming trip. Thanks to our donors from our July fundraiser for making this happen! We’ll be posting pictures of their trip next month so check back with us.

Awesome Night of Worship

Thanks to all for your support last night at our kickoff event at Grand Affairs. The Forefront Worship Band was incredible and over 100 were in attendance to learn more about our new non profit. With an emphasis on Vietnam and clean water projects/education, we got a chance to hear from the July 2010 team lead by AidNow Vice President, Monica Laurendeau and the plans for the upcoming September 2010 team lead by AidNow Board Member and Executive Pastor of Forefront, Dan Pollard. Our guest speaker was from our partner organization, Glocal Ventures Inc (GVI) based out of Texas with offices in Hanoi, Vietnam. It was great to hear the message from Dennis Jeffaries, the International Director of GVI. For those who missed the benefit and want to catch up on all of the news…we’ll be posting some pics and posts @aidnow.org in a few days so check back with us!

Kickoff Benefit

We’re officially a 501(c)(3) non profit and now the work begins! This Friday, July 30th we’re hosting our first fundraiser at Grand Affairs in Virginia Beach. In the style of VH 1 Storyteller format, the worship band from Forefront Church will perform two sets beginning at 7pm. The cover charge is $10 and includes free on site childcare. Concessions and Raffles will also be part of this evening. Join us and learn about AidNow. 100% will go to support clean water projects.
