Your “NOT” Relationship

I’ve thought about this before, but he lays it out plain and simple below.

I’ve always tried to think about what my relationship with God IS.
How do I engage him?
How does he engage me?
How do we relate to each other?
And so on…
But…I’ve never really thought about what it’s not.
Here’s my first attempt to think through that…
It’s NOT (man made) Religion — It’s not artificial. It’s not a set of rules.
It’s NOT Working my way to him — He likes for me to do good work for him, but not because it’s the condition to be accepted and loved by Him.
It’s NOT Defined by me — He has already set the parameters. It’s up to me to choose whether or not I want to be in the relationship.
It’s NOT Private — It’s not something that is to be kept hidden although it’s very personal in nature.
It’s NOT Part Time — He’s not interested in a weekly check in. He wants this relationship firing on all cylinders all the time.
